The 2019 Band Trip itinerary is being finalized and band families should expect to receive a message inviting them to an informational meeting in January. Details on the expected dates and ball park estimates of the costs are anticipated for late April or early May. The itinerary is expected to be like the last trip. The beach date is to remain as does the dinner and Blue Man Group show. Expected stops to include Hard Rock Café; Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.
SCIBA Honor Band accepted 12 students; this all-day event will be on January 6th at Ankeny (classic) High School and students will need to bring their uniforms.
ISU Honor Band accepted 8 students to the Gold and 2 students to the Cardinal Bands. This event is the first weekend of February; a two-day event. Also occurring on this weekend is the SEP Winter Formal and a Speech Event.
There was a follow-up discussion about concert etiquette including how to interact with students who may have forgotten necessary items and need to “borrow” from parents. Also discussed was how to best handle behavior issues within the auditorium.
